This page is provided by the NAJU (Naturschutzjugend) Germany and part of its educational programme. The NAJU is a non-gouvernmental youth organisation, involves a total of about 80.000 members in all federal countries of Germany and is one of the most important environmental youth organisations in Germany.

- factors of a flood
- floods and their processes and human impacts
- the historical view on floodings since the year 813
- the risks of floods, damages caused by them and the costs of floods
- a response to them by private actors, politics and public
- `public psychology´ of catastrophal flooding
- preventive methods to stop flood-intensifying factors
- ecological impacts of levees, dams, channels or power-plants on rivers
- flooding simulation
- architects and their solutions to flood hazard
- river ecology including the variety of species (plants, fishes, birds, mammals and other)
- specific physical processes of rivers
- relationship between man and rivers from the antique to the medieval time and the modern times
- interpretation of water by art, philosophy and literature
- history of hydrotechnical interventions by human beeings in the past 300 years from the simple aquaeduct of the romans to the latest flood-barrier-systems
- catalogue of ideas for young people and working samples/media for teachers for primary level and secondary level classes (eco-action, information-campaigns, etc.)
- a guide for children to check rivers on both their water-quality and their morphological character
